In the digital era of orthodontics, teeth alignment systems using clear aligners succeed in overcoming many of the disadvantages of the traditional fixed appliances with brackets.

Clear aligners are:
Predictable - with the treatment plan executed digitally, it is possible to control dental movements to an accuracy of 1 degree and 0.1 mm. Thus, we have a very clear idea of the final result and how to achieve it.
Effective - we can treat absolutely any dento-maxillary anomaly. It is a myth that aligners are destined exclusively for simple orthodontic cases. Of course, in this entire process, experience and hard training represent advantages.
Additionally, they eliminate the need of auxiliary devices such as maxillary expanders, distalizers and orthodontic miniimplants. They have the ability to push the molars posteriorly, creating space and thus avoiding extractions.
Versatile - suitable for all ages: children, teenagers, adults and elderly.
Aesthetic - they are very thin (0.75 mm), transparent, and barely noticeable to others. You can wear them in any environment: at work, during sports, or at the beach.
Comfortable and painless - they are very flexible, well-polished, and fit intimately to the teeth. Thus, there is no discomfort to the soft tissues as there is with fixed braces that bruise, sting, and irritate.
Moreover, the movement that each aligner performs is decreased (0.25 mm) and this reduces pain, often to the point of not even being there. Of course, there may be a slight discomfort during chewing, but it is incomparable to what can occur with fixed braces.
Free of restrictions - you can eat normally because they can be removed manually before meals. There are situations when it is recommended to eat with them on. We do not have to give up our favorite chips or toffees.
Oral hygiene can be maintained in perfect conditions and is far superior to that of fixed braces wearers. The aligners are removed for cleaning. Of course, we clean them as well.
Fast - the duration of treatment with aligners varies depending on the complexity of the case. Each patient requires a different number of aligners, generally a minimum of 5-10. However, even a complex case can be resolved within a year, half the time required for fixed braces.
Removable - they can be manually removed very easily, in any context. Consultations are no longer monthly but very rare (once every 3 to 6 months).
1. Diagnosis and planning
The initial consultation consists of a discussion and a thorough clinical examination through which we will analyze your overall situation, especially that of your oral cavity: the alignment of your teeth, your bite, the temporomandibular joint, and posture.
We will take several intraoral and extraoral photographs, a panoramic and a profile X-ray, as well as a 3D intraoral scan to have a digital model of your teeth.
It will take a few days to prepare a simulation of the tooth movement, which we will review together. From this, we will know exactly how long the treatment will take, how many aligners are needed, and what further steps need to be taken along the way.
Process
2. Production and delivery
Once you agree with the treatment plan, the aligners will go into production and will be delivered in approximately 3 weeks.
Next is the treatment start session, when we will apply attachments to some teeth. These are small additions made of tooth-colored composite material, which serve to support the aligners and help tooth movement. They will be removed at the end of treatment without affecting the enamel in any way. This session is completely painless, so no anesthesia will be administered!
You will receive the aligners and accessories at home along with all the information and explanations you need. Everything will be very simple, and the appliance will become an integral part of your daily routine!

3. Wearing and caring
The system is very intuitive, and each pair of aligners (upper and lower) is individually packed and numbered in the order they will be worn. You can find this numbering on each aligner, so it's impossible to make any mistakes.
They are changed at home by you once a week, in the evening, after the last meal and dental brushing. They are cleaned every morning and evening with a toothbrush (different from the one you use for oral hygiene) and liquid soap/dish detergent or by using effervescent tablets in a glass of water (Corega ProCleanser Orthodontics).
You will also receive 2 storage cases for moments when you are not wearing them.
Sometimes, we may indicate the use of intermaxillary elastics to ensure that dental movement occurs exactly as in the digital simulation.
The aligners need to be worn for a minimum of 20 hours/day. This means that during meals, brushing, and for an important meeting, they will be set aside.
The follow-up consultation can take place after 3 months, and the next one can be at the end of the treatment.
Who wants to visit their dentist every month?!
After you finish the treatment with all the aligners, it may be necessary to order and wear another much smaller series to complete the finishing stage, in case there are minor adjustments to be made. Don't worry, these are completely included as costs in the package you have already purchased.
We look forward to seeing you!
